Inspired by 90’s grunge music and the raw emotion bands such as Nirvana were able to create in an unconventional sense. Hintergedanken is my attempt at displaying how I felt at a time in my life – frustration, melancholy, longing, heartbreak and the fear of fading youth.
Brief
A Personal project created with the singular goal of expressing my emotions, thoughts and feelings through very raw imagery. The project is made up primarily through the use of Polaroid – scanned and then composed with the use of Photoshop. All textures, patterns and layers were created physically and scanned to create the rougher tone of the images.
The project for me was a way to explore my own feelings and headspace in a much deeper way with the goal of trying to evoke a sense of nostalgia, longing and melancholy.
